Especially useful on this cold polar vortex-y day. Simple to make. We whipped this up, but there’s lots of tutorials for similar. {like this one from Martha Stewart}
We modernized it by making 1/3 one print (in this case Smile & Wave | Magenta) and 2/3 another print (It’s A Plus).

Koi | East West Quilt
We have another free project to share. This one, East West, by Melanie Shortman Tuazon features Koi and is suggestive of the way the blocks alternate directions but also because of the eastern inspiration of the fabric blended with the western quilting technique. Melanie’s own family blends Asian and American traditions so it has deep meaning for her.

Koi should be here in a matter of days – and judging from the inquiries lately, waiting for it has not been very easy! Fans of Rashida Coleman-Hale may feel additionally eager by this additional Koi substrate due in December. But it’s really not too far from now… at least you’ll have time to plan your projects. It will be worth the wait!
