Holly DeGroot is a quilt pattern designer, photographer, and fabric lover from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Holly learned to sew as a child, watching her mother make dresses. Always interested in making things, Holly began sewing regularly as a creative outlet while working as a biomedical engineer after college. She started her blog, Bijou Lovely, in 2009 as a place to share her creative projects. She made her first quilt soon after starting the blog and fell in love with designing her own quilts and photographing the finished projects.
Her online shop, also called Bijou Lovely, offers modern quilt patterns and notions. Quilt patterns in the Bijou Lovely shop include the Colorblock Quilt, Bloomsbury Quilt, and Woodcut Quilt, which was displayed at QuiltCon in 2015. You can find other free patterns and tutorials on her blog.
Holly’s patterns and products have been featured in multiple quilting magazines, and she writes a monthly Trend Watch column for Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine. Her photography work has been published in craft books including Anna Graham’s Handmade Style and Krista Fleckenstein’s upcoming book, Beyond Cotton, both published by Lucky Spool.
Designing fabric has been a dream of Holly’s for several years, and she is so excited to be working with Cloud 9!
You can follow Holly’s work on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and on her blog, Bijou Lovely. You can see more of her photography on her website.
What an awesome talent addition to cloud 9 fabrics, can’t wait to see what she comes up with!

Beautiful room. I especially ❤ your drafting table. Maybe one day, I can fix up my sewing room as well. This has given me inspiration.
